Honored as Lloyd Mayer Scholar!
Dr. Wang was honored as the first Lloyd Mayer Scholar in the 2015 Advances in Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (AIBD) Conference at Orlando, FL. This award is in honor of Lloyd Mayer, MD (1952-2013), a visionary leader and brilliant scientist whose life was dedicated to finding cures for patients with IBD and improving the quality of life of those suffering from these diseases. This Lloyd Mayer Scholarship is established to recognize an exceptional early career scientist who emulates Dr. Mayer’s passion for innovative research in studying IBD immunology and mucosal health, as well as his commitment to fostering a robust IBD research community through leadership and collaboration. Congratulations!

Dr. Wang presented at Kenneth Rainin Foundation Innovations Symposium
Dr. Wang presented the poster titled “An Intestinal Trojan horse as Regenerative Therapy for Inflammatory Bowel Disease” at the Kenneth Rainin Foundation Innovations Symposium: Wound Healing, Repair & IBD on July 20-21, 2015 at the Hyatt Embarcadero in San Francisco. The Kenneth Rainin Foundation’s annual Innovations Symposium brings together influential and collaborative researchers, and innovative and creative thinkers to work toward the common goal of curing Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). The 2015 Innovations Symposium focus on Wound Healing, Repair & IBD, and take part in setting new directions in the field of IBD research.
Invited as Editor for Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC)
Dr. Wang was invited as Editor for Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) Smart Materials Series. Smart materials are materials that respond sensitively to small changes in physical or chemical conditions with relatively large conformation or property changes. Smart materials for tissue engineering are produced by modifying the physicochemical and biological properties of the scaffolds with response to external stimuli to enhance the tissue regeneration. Congratulations~
CCFA Career Award got funded!
Dr. Wang has been awarded the 2015 Career Development Award from Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA). Thanks to CCFA for the kind support on the intestinal stem cells research in Wang Lab.
