Smart Materials for Tissue Engineering : Fundamental Principles published!
The book, “Smart Materials for Tissue Engineering : Fundamental Principles“, edited by Dr. Wang has been published by Royal Society of Chemistry. The goal of this book is to document the recent advances of the fundamental principles for smart materials in tissue engineering. As an emerging area in materials science, smart materials have achieved tremendous developments in recent years. However, there is no book to summarize the research of smart materials in tissue engineering. This book will fill this gap and try to introduce the new tissue engineering smart materials to a wide range of audiences, from the scientific communities to industrial organisations. Congratulations!
Incoming freshmen check out CBE labs
Students enrolled in the College of Engineering APEX program have kicked off their summer of transition to Iowa State and are spending time in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering (CBE). The Academic Program for EXcellence for Engineers (APEX) is an intensive eight-week summer bridge program designed to increase the success rate of incoming multicultural, first-year engineering students who have just graduated from high school. Participants, some of whom are undecided about which engineering discipline to pursue, are exposed to all departments in the College of Engineering through the program.
Dr. Wang presented at Iowa Academy of Science Annual Meeting
Dr. Wang presented his research on “Intestinal Stem Cells Mediated Drug Delivery Treat Ulcerative Colitis” on 128th Iowa Academy of Science (IAS) Annual Meeting Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Grand View University, Des Moines, Iowa.
Appointed as Track Chair of GBC 2016
Dr. Wang is appointed as the Track Chairman for the “Nano Biotechnology” track at the ‘Global Biotechnology Congress 2016 (GBC 2016)’ in Boston, USA from May 11th – 14th, 2016. GBC 2016 is the 4th in the Series which provide a platform for researchers and decision makers in biotechnology to present their latest findings and learn about all the important developments in biotechnology. Many Nobel Laureates and world’s renowned experts will participate in the conference. See you in Boston!
Invited as Editor for Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC)
Dr. Wang was invited as Editor for Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) Smart Materials Series. Smart materials are materials that respond sensitively to small changes in physical or chemical conditions with relatively large conformation or property changes. Smart materials for tissue engineering are produced by modifying the physicochemical and biological properties of the scaffolds with response to external stimuli to enhance the tissue regeneration. Congratulations~
JBN Increased to 7.578!
The 2013 Impact Factor of Journal of Biomedical Nanotechnology (JBN) has increased to 7.578! It’s another milestone of JBN. Congratulations~
The 2013 Impact Factor of International Journal of Pharmaceutics (IJP) is 3.785. It’s higher than 2012’s 3.458. Congratulations!
Dr. Wang gave a presentation at Omega Chi Epsilon.
Dr. Wang was invited to give a presentation about Intestinal Engineering at Omega Chi Epsilon. Omega Chi Epsilon (or ΩΧΕ, sometimes simplified to OXE) is an American honor society for chemical engineering students. Iowa State University was the second institute to form the chapter in 1932. OXE is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies.
Invited as Editorial Board Member of Journal of Biochemistry and Physiology.
Dr. Wang has been invited to serve as Editorial Board Member of Journal of Biochemistry and Physiology (JBP). JBP is an academic journal providing an opportunity to researchers and scientist to explore the advanced and latest research developments in the field of Biochemistry & Physiology. This Journal covers all areas of the life sciences from botany to medicine that are engaged in biochemical and physiological research. Biochemistry deals with the structures, functions and interactions of biological macromolecules, such as proteins, nucleic acids, carbohydrates and lipids, which provide the structure of cells and perform many of the functions associated with life.
Invited as EBM of Journal of Primatology.
Dr. Wang has been invited to serve as Editorial Board Member of Journal of Primatology (JPMT). JPMT aims to publish most complete and reliable source of information on the discoveries and current developments in the mode of original articles, review articles, case reports, short communications, etc. in all areas of the field and making them freely available through online without any restrictions or any other subscriptions to researchers worldwide.
Invited as Editorial Board Member of Chemical Engineering and Process Techniques.
